Bangalore: Phone apps are great, they help us get work done when we are waiting in a queue or have nothing better to do. Unfortunately, App stores for the major phone operating systems have hundreds of thousands of apps. Nilabh Jha from The Mobile Indian reports on five smartphone apps to help us with our taxes.

1. Tax Ready Reckoner for Android

This app previously went by the name 'Tax Guide with 10 Calculators’. The ‘ten calculators’ referred to functions in the app like computing TDS amount or leave salary exempt amount.

Geared for finance professionals, the app will also inform users about various case studies, instructions and circulars from The Central Board of Direct Taxes. The app also fetches articles from taxworry.com.
